There are some beauty collections that you appreciate, and then there are those that make you stop what you’re doing and have a proper look. The new Bobbi Brown x The Met Collection is very much the latter.
Honestly, I think this is gorgeous. From the moment I opened the collection, I was completely taken with it. The packaging is beautiful, the shades are stunning and the whole thing has that rather special feel of an old-fashioned collector’s edition. You know, the sort of makeup you almost feel guilty about using because it looks so lovely sitting on your dressing table!
Bobbi Brown has collaborated with The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met) for a limited-edition holiday collection, bringing some very beautiful works of art to its makeup packaging. And I think they’ve absolutely nailed it.
I’ve photographed all the pieces and swatched the shades so you can have a proper look at everything before deciding what might make its way onto your own Christmas list.
So, let’s get into it.
Here’s a little look at the collection in all its glory.
The Bobbi Brown x The Met Products
1. Bobbi Brown x The Met 8-Well Eyeshadow Palette – £45
The eyeshadow palette is an absolute showstopper. Featuring a detail from Henri-Edmond Cross’s Landscape with Stars (1905–1908), the compact is finished with a gilded frame.

Inside, there are eight shades combining matte and shimmer finishes, with a lovely mix of gold, champagne, bronze and deeper tones.
The shades are:
- Tapestry – shimmering soft true gold
- Gilded Frame – shimmering light champagne
- Glimmering Gallery – shimmering soft yellow gold
- Sculpted Bronze – shimmering neutral bronze
- Graphite Glimmer – twinkling black brown
- Artist’s Easel – matte beige
- Sketch – medium matte warm brown
- Midnight Ink – matte deep blue
Four of the eyeshadows also feature a beautiful pressed design, which is another lovely detail.

I really like the balance of shades here. You have everything you need for softer everyday eye makeup, but there is also enough depth and shimmer to take things into evening territory.

2. Bobbi Brown x The Met Luxe Eyeshadow Single – Rose Illusion – £32
If you like a little sparkle, this one is particularly pretty.

Rose Illusion is a multidimensional rose-gold shimmer shade, designed to give the eyes an instant hit of luminosity. It comes in a limited-edition case featuring another detail from Henri-Edmond Cross’s Landscape with Stars.

It’s a lovely addition to the collection and, of course, the packaging is just as special as the palette.

3. Bobbi Brown x The Met Brightening Blush – £42.50
The blush compact features artwork inspired by Gustav Klimt’s Mäda Primavesi (1912–1913).
Inside, the Brightening Blush is a three-in-one combination of colour and glow, with three complementary tones designed to be worn together or individually.

The collection includes Blushed Peach and Blushed Burgundy, with a combination of matte and luminous finishes.
Blushed Peach offers a peach tone with soft gold and light bronze, while Blushed Burgundy combines a soft burgundy with champagne satin and golden shimmer.

I love the idea of having the different finishes together, as you can customise how much colour and glow you want on the cheeks.
And just look at that compact!

4. Bobbi Brown x The Met Luxe Lipstick – £36
The lipsticks come in two shades: Neutral Rose and Parisian Red.

The limited-edition cases feature artwork from Odilon Redon’s Pandora (1914), making these feel like rather special additions to the collection.
Neutral Rose is a lovely everyday pinky rose, while Parisian Red is a classic true red. Two very different moods, but both shades feel particularly fitting for the festive season.

The formula is Bobbi Brown’s skincare-infused Luxe Lipstick, with a satin finish.
I think these would make particularly lovely gifts.
My swatches:

Last but certainly not least, we have the Extra Lip Tinted Balms.

These come in Bare Rose and Bare Mahogany, with the cases featuring Claude Monet’s Bouquet of Sunflowers (1881).
The formula gives sheer, balmy colour with hydration, and the colour adjusts to your lips’ pH to create a personalised flush.
Bare Rose is the softer option, while Bare Mahogany offers a deeper, warmer tone.
