This Rule One Active BCAA powder is manufactured in the USA in a GMP-certified facility, which is a must for me. It has undergone banned substances testing by Informed Choice. It contains 5g of 3 Branched Chain Amino Acids. In addition, it includes 1.5g L-Glutamine, 1g Citrulline, 350mg of raw coconut water powder, and 350mg electrolyte blend. Coconut water is a great source of electrolytes, as well. It is free of stimulants. However, I am not completely satisfied with the ingredients, which is why I am deducting a star. They use sucralose, which is an artificial sweetener, and Yellow Dye #6, which is unnecessary. The use of these ingredients will prevent me from purchasing this product in the future. I ordered the orange flavor which is enjoyable and masks the unpleasant taste of the amino acids. It’s a bit sweet for me so I add additional water. If you are new to amino acids, beware that they can send some people (including me) running to the restroom. It’s a minor annoyance but typical with any product of this type in my case. At the suggested serving size of 1 scoop (12.5g) per day, this container of Essential Amino 9 powder will last for 30 days. At the current selling price of $21.99, it costs $0.73 per serving. The expiration date is 19 months in the future.I think it is important to learn as much as you can about a company and a supplement before taking it. There are a lot of bad supplements on the market that can be detrimental to your health. The supplement industry is not regulated so it is up to each person to fully research products before consuming them. According to internet search results, Rule One Proteins was founded in 2014. Rule One has an extensive website that is fully functional and well-developed. This particular product is offered for sale on the website. They are active on social media platforms and have 51K followers on Facebook. Rule One prints their address, phone number, and website right on the label. Google Maps shows a three-story commercial property with no signage on the building. The website offers a contact form and email address for customer support.

Good formulation. Grape, orange, and blue raspberry all taste great.

I picked up the Rule 1 Active BCAA in Orange to support recovery and hydration during my workouts, and it mostly delivered on what I was looking for. The flavor is genuinely enjoyable—more like a citrus sports drink than a supplement—which made it easy to sip on while training. It mixes well with cold water and doesn’t leave any gritty texture, which is a plus.Performance-wise, I noticed a decent boost in hydration and less soreness the next day, especially when training multiple days in a row. The combo of BCAAs, electrolytes, glutamine, and citrulline is well-rounded for recovery and endurance. That said, this isn’t for everyone. Some users—myself included—might find that it can upset your stomach, especially on an empty stomach. I didn’t have as strong of a reaction as others reported, but I can definitely see how it could be a concern. It also includes artificial colors like Red 40 in certain flavors, so if you’re trying to avoid synthetic additives, that’s something to be aware of.If you’re okay with artificial sweeteners and don’t have a sensitive stomach, this is a solid intra-workout or post-training hydration option that’s affordably priced and easy to use. Just be sure to mix it with plenty of water and maybe avoid it before fasted workouts.

Good ingredients in this make for a solid product that should work for most people. 5g of BCAA is the sweet spot – exactly what the literature says to use between meals or while working out. And a bit of coconut powder should help with the hydration aspects of the drink. The flavor is a bit unique and it’s where I have the hardest time with the product. There’s parts of the flavor that really remind me of fresh squeezed orange juice. Whenever those notes hit, I am really impressed. But the rest of the time there’s a bit of an odd flavor – it isn’t really orange per-say. It’s not ultra enjoyable but it isn’t bad either. If they could just keep more of that fresh squeezed flavor and less of the main flavor it would be amazing.
