Quando l’ho ordinata ero parecchio scettico, lo ammetto, ma questa maschera ha superato ogni aspettativa. La sto usando ogni volta che ho qualche irritazione in faccia e devo dire che funziona davvero bene. La indosso per circa 20 minuti, attivando la modalità a luce infrarossa specifica. Ci sono diversi tipi di luce – ve li spiegano bene anche nel foglietto illustrativo – ognuna pensata per un’esigenza diversa: la rossa aiuta contro l’invecchiamento, la verde lavora sull’equilibrio del collagene, mentre io di solito uso la gialla, quella che calma le irritazioni. È perfetta se, ad esempio, vi siete esposti troppo al sole oppure avete usato una crema un po’ troppo aggressiva per errore.L’unica nota stonata, se devo essere onesto, sono gli elastici dietro la testa. Non riesco ancora a regolarli a modo e mi stringono sempre troppo. Quando tolgo la maschera sono parecchio arrossato, ma è una cosa che si sistema in pochi minuti, giusto il tempo che riprenda bene la circolazione. Però ecco, su questo dettaglio secondo me potevano trovare una soluzione migliore.

The mask arrives well packaged in a slick white box. Inside there is the mask, the decolletage covering ‘mask’ two eye guards, the battery pack, wires and a cream drawstring bag, aswell as instructions. It looks clinical and professional – just like something you would see in a spa or beauty salon. The mask offers a range of near infrared colours. In the instructions it tells you which one is better for which results which is handy. The main unit is where you decide the colour you want along with the strength of the light. It is absolutely vital to wear the eye guards when you wear the mask as even on the lowest setting, it is so bright you can see it the whole time you’re wearing the mask. Even with them in, you do have to pull the straps very tight (they stick with velcro) to try to limit the amount of light which leaks through the eye holes. It’s a relaxing experience to use this mask once you’ve made it comfortable. It’s set to 15 minutes at first but you can change this if you want it on for longer. When you take it off it’s a strange sensation, even if you’ve had your eyes closed the whole time as your eyes need to get used to the light of the room you’re in again. I’ve used the mask several times and my skin hasn’t had any breakouts since. More longterm use will ultimately determine even further benefits of using it but I am happy with it and will continue to use it several times a week. It’s a great, cost effective way of getting a spa treatment in the comfort of your own home.
