For some reason, kid music is just DUMB. The lyrics are stupid, the writers of the songs just repeat the same things over and over, and I don’t understand why, just because it’s for kids, it’s got to be uninteresting and have poorly-written lyrics, and uninteresting musical parts. That’s not an issue with this record. Aside from a couple of tunes that get on my nerves (which happens on grownup CD’s, too, let’s face it), this record is solid! We discovered the Pop Ups on one of the kid music channels on Sirius Satellite Radio, and since my receiver is an older one, I was able to add the Pop Ups to the playlist, so every time they came on any station, we could click over and give a listen. My daughter and I liked what we heard very much, so we decided to buy a CD. This will not be our last Pop Ups CD.The lyrics are appropriate for children without being too simple. The musicianship is solid. The chord progressions are interesting. If you’re tired of trite kid music, please give the Pop Ups a listen. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Another awesome album. I’ve been a fan of the Pop Ups for a while now and was very excited to play the new album. It’s great. I love it and watched my almost 3 year old have a dance party while listening to it. We did the robot dance in style, played with blocks, and now she wants a costume party. Thanks for another great cd that the whole family enjoys.

Both my son and I enjoy this music. Puzzles, cooking, laundry all the standard parts of our daily life have an agreeable soundtrack now. It is nice to have music that is kid appropriate that doesn’t drive me insane. I need music to live.
