This shampoo and conditioner combo is really great. They aren’t large sized jars but there’s enough in there for plenty times of use. The materials they use and include in their products are great and truly unlike any other brands you’ll find on the market! It is a bit off being in jars instead of a bottle but they work and they work well. The shampoo was good at really making my hair feel clean and the conditioner was the show stopper for me. It made my hair feel amazing, detangled and so soft after using it! It’s a little pricey but for both products it seems fair. Overall though it was a really good product to try and to enjoy!

These are tiny containers so if you have a lot of hair don’t waste your time and money, a little doesn’t go a long way. Smells refreshing though.

I have been trying to reduce my plastic consumption where possible (and haven’t gotten on well with solid shampoo/conditioner bars). I saw the UpCircle shampoo well reviewed on Instagram and it’s definitely cheaper to buy the shampoo and conditioner together than individually. The shampoo creme is amazing, a little goes a long way and leaves my hair feeling wonderful. Sadly not the conditioner doesn’t work for me the same (I have long thick hair and need a lot of it, so ended up using almost half of the pot during one hair wash). Will be using the shampoo on my hair from now on, but I am going to have to have to find an alternative conditioner!

There is a lot I like about this shampoo and conditioner set, I am just not sure it’s for me. (For reference, I have a fair amount of hair that is pretty fine with a bit of body. It’s extremely long, and overdue for a cut. The top is pretty healthy, I do have some breakage from wearing it tied back all the time and as I said I really need to take some significant length off because the ends are like straw from repeated bleaching years ago. My hair dries straight once it’s brushed but if I do not brush it out of the shower it has some slight waves in places.) I was excited to try this set for a few reasons. I really love that it’s Leaping Bunny certified, B Corp certified, vegan, and plastic negative. I also love that the company is using wasted resources (discarded pink berry and orange peels from other beauty) and putting them to use. I also like the idea of a concentrated product. (Why take up extra room in packaging and shipping for water?) The packaging is very nice in terms of the pretty blue glass jar and matte black metal lids. (I love that they are plastic negative and I will reuse the jars when I am done with the product but I am not sure how heavy glass fits-in sustainability wise… I know there are pro/cons to everything and with the focus on more sustainable and ethical choices I am assuming this has been factored in.) The smell of both the shampoo and the conditioner are herbal. They are fresh and pleasant but not my personal preference as I generally prefer bright or slightly fruity smelling things. (I was hoping the grapefruit would come through on the shampoo but that is not the case.) I think I actually like the scent better when my hair is dry. I didn’t use any other products like a detangler or leave-in conditioners, so that I could truly test the product. I found the scent to be very faint on my dry hair, not at all overpowering as some shampoos and conditioners can be, and less herbal. My hair smells good, even a day or two later but it doesn’t have a noticeable scent. The consistency of the shampoo is almost like whipped lotion . I knew it would take a little little getting used to in terms of adding a little water in your hand and working it through your hair and I am ok with that as a trade of. I don’t get a real lather with the shampoo which may or may not appeal to some. The conditioner feels like a hair mask. Because my hair is so long and I have a lot of it, I found it difficult to “coat” my hair as I normally would. I think I would have used at least half the container. I concentrated on my mids to ends as the directions suggested but I don’t think that makes sense in terms of some of the ingredients that are for the scalp. After a few weeks of testing, I’ve stopped using this set for now and I am going to try it again in a month or two when there is less humidity, the dry heat has kicked in, and I’ve cut my hair. Maybe it will make more sense for me then. Overall I love that this set is cruelty free, vegan, “up-cycled”, and concentrated but it doesn’t work for my hair currently. If this is in your budget then it may be a better fit for you. I’ve included pictures of the packaging and the product (shampoo on right, conditioner on left) with a permanent marker for scale. I will update my review in a few months (currently 9/24) if I find significantly different results when I use this on shorter hair in the cooler, more dry months ahead.
