I travel a lot and get tired of having to replace cheap travel containers that leak. I have seen several ads for the Cadence Travel Containers and decided to finally order them after my last set of travel containers burst during a flight. I am a 45 year old type A woman, messy anything gives me anxiety so I love the idea of Cadence Travel containers to keep all of my travel goodies safe and secure.
The capsules are made of a heavy duty plastic that is lighter than it looks. The lids on the medium capsules are easy to loosen and tighten and you can tell that the lid is fully shut based on the alignment. The small capsules are a little harder to get a grip on and can be difficult to open at times. Each container has a magnetic label to show what is inside. This set specifically includes labels for skincare items but if you wanted different magnetic labels Cadence offers them for purchase on their website. The containers are also magnetic, the medium capsules have magnets on the top, bottom and all sides. The small capsules only have magnets on the top and bottom. The top and bottom magnets are pretty strong, however the side magnets aren’t very strong at all. The side magnets are strong enough to keep the items grouped together but if you pick one up of the containers the other containers won’t stay magnetized to it.
The Cadence Capsules stand far and above any of my other travel containers due to how easy they are to fill. The mouth of the capsule is wide and makes it easy not to waste any product when filling them. I also love that Cadence sells extenders for the medium capsules. I purchased a set of extenders and my haircare for a week plus easily fits in my medium sized Cadence Capsules.
While I do love the Cadence Capsules there are a few drawbacks. First as I mentioned earlier the smaller capsules can be difficult to open and if you happen to open it sideways you will lose product so you must be careful to open it upright. Next I wish that the Cadence kit included blank magnetic labels or a discount code to purchase additional magnetic labels. Finally the price is exorbitant for any type of travel container. The Cadence Capsules are nice but at this high price point I would expect far better quality.
If you are someone who travels a lot, you don’t mind spending a good amount of money and you are looking for good travel containers that don’t leak Cadence Capsules would be perfect for you.

Giving a 3/5 stars because the product itself is great, easy, convenient but honestly for what it is, overpriced. It is a lot nicer than a silicone reusable container for traveling. However, it’s just plastic containers that are a little bit magnetic. The twist on/off is okay, not as easy as i was hoping for. Essentially you get 5 small containers that are cute and small but for $110? The product does not line with the value/price. I’m all for spending a little bit more $ for nicer things but I feel like with the product itself it should be way less. Not worth the price imo

I got these thinking of all the possibilities I could use them for and I travel A LOT! But they sat for awhile before I found a use for them. Mostly because I found the sizes a bit awkward for my needs, and I don’t have many products that would work in these types of containers. Thus far I have used them for hair butter/moisturizer (smallest size) and the Olay melts face wash (can fit about 10-12 in the larger size). Plan to use the others for body wash powder or toothpaste powder. Overall, I like these in concept, but I do have some issues. 1) I wish the lids were reversible not interchangeable – meaning I wish the blank side was actually usable. None of the pre-labeled lids apply to what I want to use the containers for and I wish there was a “write-in” space on the flip side instead of having buy blank or custom ones. 2) The magnets are on the weak side. They tend to slide a bit when stacking them – a minor annoyance but given how expensive these are, I expected better. 3) I wish this wasn’t a “specialty” or limited edition color – this dark grey isn’t currently available at Cadence so I’d have to buy another color if I wanted to expand my set. Otherwise these are VERY sturdy and seal extremely well, if not a little too well (but zero leaks my whole trip!).

High quality material with smart design but does it have to be this expensive? The set may work for single travelers but if you have kids and traveling as a family, the capsules are too small to carry around. I can only fit my eye cream but when it comes to face wash, moisturizer, sunscreen, body wash, body lotion…. Even the biggest size is too small for a family of 4 weekend gateway. If you are a solo traveller, it would be ideal for you. Still I would prefer my travel sizes as it is more hygenic.

Pros:- these come in a nice, eco friendly box and would make a fancy little stocking stuffer or gift for someone who travels often- the magnetic feature is unique and I like how they interlock and are really easy to find in your bag. I’ve read reviews that said the small ones were not magnetic but that doesn’t seem to be the case for mine- I didn’t realize until my child dropped one on the floor and the label tile popped off, but you can swap the labelsCons:- these are really, really difficult to open and close. On one hand I guess that’s proof they’ll be leak proof, but especially with damp hands I have a hard time opening them which makes me nervous that I’ll spill my expensive cosmetics!- the labels aren’t easy to read on the charcoal ones. I just ordered the pink to try instead because the contrast on those looks better- swapping the labels is hard! I broke a nail trying to get the magnetic label tile off of one of these. Next time I’ll use a cuticle cutter to pry them off- you don’t get any custom label options, just moisturizer, sunscreen, serum, makeup remover, and cleanser. I try to do double duty when I travel, so I’m not going to carry remover + cleanser. Same with moisturizer + sunscreen. I don’t need both just BB cream. Also things like serum already come in tiny bottles with droppers or pumps – there’s no need to pour that into one of these containers.Overall opinion: these are expensive and heavy, plus difficult to open and close. They aren’t easily customized, and the labels that exist are not practical. I travel a lot for work, so I’m still interested in testing them in a few real world scenarios, but I don’t have the highest hopes. I ordered a second set to see if the pink ones are any easier to use and will update my review after a few trips. Ultimately, I think these will work best for products that don’t already come in travel sized options, like the special heel cream that I really like to use at bedtime but it’s only sold in larger tubs.
