Pink Sugar Berry Blast Eau de Toilette, verstuiver

My second favourite being the now discontinued Gold Sugar. At the first spray onto my wrist of Berry Blast, I hated it! It was heavy on the liquorice and to me, smelled so similar to Aquolina Black Sugar, and notes of Pink Sugar, which I’m not a huge fan of. I instantly thought I’d made a mistake blind buying Berry Blast. Stick with me, it becomes positive.The following day, being lazy and not wanting to spray my other expensive perfumes on after showering to waste before bed, I doused myself heavy with Berry Blast, and 30 minutes later I fell in love with it. That 1 single squirt on my wrist obviously wasn’t enough to get any of the notes out of it. Dousing my neck, wrists and hair, on the dry down, out came the undertones of berries and sweetness and I haven’t stopped wearing it since. I’m so glad that I gave it a second chance, as I was going to list it for sale. Just goes to show that one squirt of a perfume is not enough to get an idea of a perfume. Remember that next time they give you one lousy wrist squirt in perfume shops as a tester.This is very much in the same scent league as Pink Sugar, as you have that slightly liquorice scent and the sweetness, so if you like Pink Sugar, you can’t possibly dislike Berry Blast. Although that liquorice note is still there, being at it’s strongest upon spraying, it mellows down a fair amount after 30 minutes. I really wouldn’t say this is a fruity scent, but the fruits are hovering somewhere between the middle and bottom notes. I don’t really get cherry notes from it, it’s more of a subtle mixed berries scent. Think Pink Sugar and mixed berry fruits, and that’s what this fragrance is. If you really hate Pink Sugar, I’d stay away from this, especially if you don’t like the liquorice notes in Pink Sugar. Though I’m not so much of a huge fan of the original Pink Sugar, I’ve never hated it, I just don’t love that initial liquorice bomb upon spraying it so have a love hate relationship with it. But I Adore this Berry Blast once it settles down.Strength and longevity and projection are incredibly strong for this Eau de toilette and the 100ml will last forever. Definitely a strong 2nd next to Gold Sugar, Pink Sugar coming in 3rd place, Simply Pink 4th, Black Sugar definitely in last place.
