If you are doing artwork with watercolor or inks, these palettes are useful for testing mixes and swatching. Set up your colors in series on each palette and work out your favorite mixes.When using watercolors in particular, the blend of pigments in each tube or pan determines how well they “play with others.” Some colors, instead of creating a third secondary color, the famous yellow-and-blue-make-green instead create an unexpected and maybe not so desirable a shade. This is because some pigments can cancel out the reflectance of a particular wavelength light instead of allowing it through. So if you have a new set of colors, it’s helpful to swatch your favorite shades and see what you get. Colors can have the same name in different brands but be made up of completely different pigments, and some brands will mix two or three, which have very unexpected results if mixed.So get a set of these palettes and experiment!These palettes are also fun if you are doing variations of the same painting in different colors.Summary: a very handy set for doing all kinds of artwork.
