An oil-based cleanser is great for removing makeup and excess sebum and can help keep your skin from being stripped of oils during the cleansing process. I enjoy an oil-based cleanser, sometimes as the only cleanser (when my skin is dry) or as part of a 2-step cleansing routine, that is, followed by a regular, gentle cleanser.This cleanser has a heavier feel and leaves a bit more oil residue than some of the other oil-based cleansers I use, so most of the time, I plan to follow up with a second cleanse, at least on my T-zone (especially my forehead since I don’t want my hair picking up the oils), although I should note that the oily feel is greatly improved if you follow up with a watery toner or hydrosol. Since I also love oil and water mixes as a serum step for my skin, I mixed a little with my favorite hydrosol and used it on my cheeks/neck/décolletage, and it left my skin baby soft.The ingredients, which are listed in the product info section, are excellent for those looking for natural oils, but note that there are several essential oils, some of which might not agree with all skin types, and some that are known to be more allergenic, like Ylang Ylang Essential Oil. Several also have a fragrance, but I found that the scent, while noticeable, is fairly light, and after a few mins, it’s so light that most will not even be aware of it. I still notice it (I have a keen sense of smell), but it’s just light enough that I am not distracted or bothered by it at all.Avocado oil and olive oil are usually not recommended for oily skin, so this product is geared to dry skin. If you have oily skin, I would look for a different formulation (rosehip and argan oil are always solid choices).

I like that there are no non-natural ingredients in this, and it feels pretty good as a face scrub. It’s not at all harsh, just a very gentle cleaning. It comes in a plastic bottle, which is a little surprising for an item this expensive.
