Works great, my 42 year old feet are now nice and smooth now. I clean my file upwith some soap, water and brush.

I have owned these for ~1 month now and I’m finally ready to write my review. If anything changes, I will certainly come back and edit it.So far, I love these files! I have two because Amazon made an error in which file they sent out, and Gladzy was prompt to offer a replacement out of their own pocket. It also gave me the ability to give my opinion on two of the styles they have to offer.First things first, if you have major callouses and want them GONE right away, I cannot recommend these. They are amazing at normal skin buildup, but if it is especially thick, I must recommend you invest in one of those cheaper glass foot files, which have little abrasive dots instead. Those things will really take the skin off your feet, sometimes a little too well. However, they leave the feet very rough, so I think it’s best to buy one of these to go with it so you can polish everything to a silky-smooth finish.These babies are great for daily or weekly foot treatment. I am a student nurse, and I know these will definitely come in handy after working on my feet for 12 hours when the callouses want to build up.THE BEST WAY TO USE THESE:You can use these for your hand callouses just as well as your feet! Unlike the cheaper options I mentioned, these work best when you have soaked in water for a bit and partially dry off. My method for both hand and feet callouses is to soak the area I want to file for about ten minutes or more, pat dry, then go at it with the file. You may need to keep a basin of water nearby with an old toothbrush to clear up the file now and then.I find the less abrasive side does a really good job at rolling the dead skin off into little logs, as you can see in my pictures. Your feet should be really, REALLY smooth after buffing them with the finer grit—I couldn’t stop rubbing my feet together after I was done, and my soft blankets felt even softer against them! Be sure to moisturize as well.If you want this for just your feet, I really recommend the “large” size. Because it is long, you’re really able to get the skin off in a few passes. See why I wanted the full-area etched below…AS A NAIL FILE:These work great for nails and takes off a lot off in just a few passes. Would love to try out one of their actual nail files, as nurses aren’t allowed to trim the nails of their patients and must file them instead. I would use one of these, but that’s a lot to carry around! Maybe one day. If I ever get my hands on one, expect to see another review. I’ll also have to make sure that my hospital allows me to bring my own file for patients. Do remember that these are glass, though, and very sanitizable.UNCONVENTIONAL USAGE:I have been experimenting with the finer grit of the file for my skin. You can, in fact, remove leg hair with it! It also removes dead skin very well, wet or dry. PLEASE NOTE, HOWEVER that the company DOES NOT recommend using it for such things and you may cause harm to your skin if you try to do what I decided to do.I have terrible acne, which has led to scarring. I wanted to see if this might be able to help. So far, I do think it has made a bit of a difference, but my skin is not overly delicate and I’m sure if most people tried this, they would certainly hurt themselves. It is also great for dry skin and makes my arms and legs feel like silk—going too rough will definitely cause it to sting, though. Additionally, sometimes after using it on my skin, it will get red and bumpy, but that goes away within a few hours for me. Overall, you can try it, but I wouldn’t recommend it for everybody.WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE ABOUT THIS PRODUCT:Now, some things I didn’t like. The large size is thinner than the full-area etched, most likely because you need that thickness to get a hold of it, but after I felt the difference, I was a little worried about putting too much pressure on the large in the fear it would snap. I’m sure it wouldn’t, but I want them to last and am not willing to risk it.Another big thing was that I noticed uneven etching. On the large, the tip of the finer grit was much less abrasive than the rest of it, which was odd to me. When I received the full-area etched board, I also noticed the etching was much, MUCH more abrasive. If I were to try and glide a finger across the surface, it would cling because the surface was nice and gritty. The large size was much less coarse.I did not take off any stars for this because I am sure that if I brought it up, Gladzy would be more than happy to send out a replacement.It’s also important to note that if you move the cord on the full-area etched piece too much, since it is all etched, the cording might begin to get a little mangled—it sure did for me.OVERALL:They are lovely and I don’t regret buying them one bit. They serve all my needs, and I’m sure they will for a very long time, hopefully forever. I hope my pictures were helpful, I hate buying someone without seeing customer photos. If you’re on the fence, you ought to give it a shot. It’s inexpensive and, for me, has been a great way to maintain my hands and feet.

Mar 30, 2025 5:51 AMI purchased 2 of these glass foot files. One for me and one for a gift. I also purchased the spa glass file set for a gift for a good friend. I love that the foot files has course and smooth sides and that the file is very sturdy. They really handle my rough foot skin helping to keep them smooth. Also love that I just wash them off! Thank you for this great product.
