Chronic dermatitis sufferer, and i thought I’d give it a try. People swear by this therapy, but I’m not sure I have noticed any improvement in my skin condition. It’s more of a warm fuzzy, and it’s kinda fun. I highly recommend buying a desk lamp shaped for these bulbs. The lamp cord that comes with it is ok, but really awkward to use. I had a desk lamp already and once I put it in there, it was super easy to use.Again, not sure if it’s a genuine health benefit, but it’s a great quality light and cheap enough to give it a try.

Quality. Nice, thick braided cord with a rocker switch. Light seemed to help my knee heal when I was not experiencing progress. I was not interested in spending a lot on a name brand light. I’m very happy with this purchase..

if you didn’t know that red light therapy can help cold sores before you read this, you do now. i received and started using my hooga bulb at around the time my cold sores had started the scabbing phase, approximately 4 days from when they popped up on my lip. i used the bulb for about 10 minutes each night, and by the following evening i could see crazy results.- by the first evening with the hooga (5 nights in), the scabs were starting to heal- by the second evening (6 nights in), the scabs stopped bleeding and there was no more uncomfortable tingling- by the third evening (tonight, 7 nights in), the scabs FELL OFF. the skin underneath is still raw and new, but there’s no bleeding, no weeping. i am absolutely gobsmacked.please know that while the instructions say the eye protection is optional, the bulb is BRIGHT. you will see it through your eyelids (and also through your hands over your eyelids if you try that, lmao) and it won’t be comfortable. after learning that the hard way, i do not turn the bulb on anymore without the eye protection in place. even still with those on, if you’re close enough for deep tissue healing on the face, the light will still penetrate your cheeks and you’ll see it. it’s kind of wild. so yeah, protect your eyes (and maybe only use if you’re the only person in the room so you don’t blind kids or pets)! also, do yourself a favor and get one of those desk-clamp grow light stands. it will keep this experience hands-free.hooga: this is my love letter to you. i’ve read amazing things about your products within the autoimmune community. i can’t afford to buy one of your bigger body lamps, so i am VERY grateful you’ve made this extremely economical lamp for people like me. these outbreaks only come every 4 or 5 years for me, but i am excited to explore using this lamp to heal in other ways, and i hope others who suffer from cold sores see this review so they can also help themselves.

I got this little light as a test to see if red light therapy was a good fit for our family. My husband is using it for muscular healing, I use it on my skin and stomach and my kids love just laying under it and basking.Though it’s too soon to tell how the long term effects will be, I have had remarkable results using it for an injury. I had a wooden and metal box crash onto my ankle the other night and was in agony, couldn’t move, was debilitated. That night I iced it and used homeopathy to mediate the pain and bring swelling down. The next morning I got up and was upright but in a lot of pain. I used the red light for ten minutes and was able to go about my day as a busy mom of 4 with minimal pain and swelling. By afternoon I was sore again and lagging. Another 10 minutes under the light had me able to get through dinner and bedtime routines. Three days later and a few more sessions and I barely remember how bad it was. Win for red light therapy!
